You’re invited to be part of a Big Celebration in 2017!

Community organizations, academic institutions, churches and professional entities are invited to participate in special tributes and celebrations.

Columbia will turn 50 on June 21, 2017 (the Summer Solstice) and the entire week will be dedicated to a time of celebration under the People Tree.

The Birthday year begins earlier with special events and activities—March 20 (the Vernal Equinox) and continue through September 22, 2017.

Six months of celebration—a wonderful opportunity to honor an amazing 50 Years of Columbia, Maryland.

Appreciate the past. Imagine the future
